End of the Islamic Umma.
A mid-nineteenth century Europe there are two forces that are totally contrary to all revealed religion: liberalism and Marxism. Between them they share the world and embark on the conquest of the Muslim nation, the Umma. One by one they fall into the hands of Muslim countries liberal or Marxist. Britain invades Egypt, Iraq, Palestine and the Moghul Empire. France invaded Algeria, Tunisia, Syria and Morocco, Italy invaded Libya, Russia invaded the Muslim kingdoms of Central Asia and invading Ottoman Turkish territory.
In 1924 CE the Turkish nationalists, influenced by European liberalism, ending the Caliphate, ending three centuries of cultural supremacy of Islam.
From the moment the Muslim world is torn between returning to Islam or the blind imitation of all the “isms” European political and economic.
But Islam remained the most widespread belief among the Muslim people, so repression does not work for long. Here is to change the strategy, there is the attack on the Islamic doctrine as a way of life. Written dozens of books attacking the teachings of the Qur’an and Muhammad, hundreds of authors influenced by imperial powers are expressed against Islam as a doctrine and eventually became fashionable in the world accused of “fundamentalist”, “terrorist” or “extremist “any practicing Muslim who defended Islam as a doctrine of life that should not confine himself within the temples and mere empty and superficial ritualism.
Political and military impotence of Muslims to the invasion of their lands, especially Palestine, made the Muslims react differently: some took refuge in prayers and rituals, avoiding any discussion formalities of public life, others devoted themselves to imitate invaders assuming that this would make them as successful, and others finally proposes solutions that are not suicidal but desperate attempts to counter the frontal attack on Muslim identity that takes place in the world, especially since 2001.
[1] The original Arabic word is Din which is about to pay off debts to God. Many authors translate it as “religion” but we preferred to return to the original meaning in Arabic is: “how to worship God properly and thus have clear accounts with him.”
[2] Muslims are not swept up in a fatalistic way destination. People must fight and strive for their goals, especially if they are good, but they should know that ultimate success depends on God and must therefore seek your indulgence and entrusted to His infinite wisdom.
[3] Khalifa in Arabic successor. The Caliph is the successor to Muhammad in the administration of the nation and the implementation of Islamic law (Sharia) statewide. It is a political appointee, not religious, it seems the executive branch of democratic states.
