The Night of Decree: A Way To Forgiveness of Sins

Abu Hurairah (radialláhu ‘anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu’ alayhi wa sallam) said: “Whoever rises during the Night of Qadr in prayer and worship to Allah Ta’ala with sincere faith and with the sincere hope of receiving the reward of Allah Ta’ala, his previous sins will be forgiven. “

Commentary

In this hadith, Al Salah up concerns and any other form of ‘ibadah, such as dhikr, tilaawah (recitation of the Quran) and so on. The phrase “with sincere hope of reward,” means you must be busy in ‘ibadah only intended to please Allah Ta’ala and to receive his reward. Not to do anything to be seen by others or to impress. According to Al Jat-tabi (rahmatulláhi ‘alayhi) means we have complete faith in the promise that every good deed will be rewarded and well being in front of Allah Ta’ala with commitment and enthusiasm. We should not think about this’ Ibadah as if it were a burden, nor let there the slightest doubt about the reward that has been put behind her. After all, is a well known fact, that when you think about an important goal and has the desire to get their reward, while having the certainty of getting it, the burden and the difficulty required to achieve this goal becomes easier to carry. Similarly then, the burden of up to pray it gets easier. For this reason, is that those who have high spiritual position in the eyes of Allah Ta’ala, find it easy to be constantly in ‘Ibadah.

Note that the hadith tells us that our past sins will be forgiven. The scholars have said that forgiveness mentioned here and in other Ahadith, refers only to the case of minor sins. The major sins are forgiven only as established in the Koran and when there is a sincere repentance, with the promise never to commit again. On this basis there is consensus among the scholars about the major sins are forgiven only when there taubah. Therefore, each time in the Ahadith mentioned the forgiveness of sins, it is restricted to minor sins.

My father, who died (may Allah Ta’ala bless him and grant him light in his resting place), used to say that the word “child” had been omitted in the Ahadith for two reasons:

First, he said: “A true Muslim is he in whom there is none of his major sins, because every time he commits a major sin, he will not rest or have peace, until they repent to Allah Ta’ala, begging forgiveness and promising not to repeat the same in the future. “

Second, my father (rahmatulláhi ‘alayhi) used to say: “When days and nights are so blessed, and a true Muslim stands in front of Allah in prayer and Allah Ta’ ibadah, hoping to get the reward, it is obvious that the true Muslim his conscience will feel a great sorrow for his previous sins. “

The sorrow and the final decision not to return to the same, are the most important requirements of taubah (repentance). This means that during these days and nights, repentance for sins is more automatic (leaving only the minor sins to be forgiven). Anyway, it’s better than when one night as Laylatul Qadr comes, who committed major sins, should first of all, repent with my heart full of longing for forgiveness, so that Allah Ta’ala in His infinite mercy forgive for all their sins. And when you do remember me in your Du’a.
