Propagated Islam and monotheism can not be achieved except by explaining the essence of shirk, with very clear, so with that a Muslim will be safe from danger. Therefore, we find many texts in the Qur’an and as-Sunnah that explain it. Among them was shirk in terms of prayer. Namely, when a servant addressing his prayer to God and also to other than Him. He hang the hopes and her fears to other than Allah besides hope and fear Him. Allah ta’ala says about the act of the polytheists (which means), “Then when they got on the boat (then hit by a storm of ocean) and they were praying to God for His mengikhlaskan religion, but when God saved them to the mainland suddenly they were back doing kesyirikan. “(Surah al-Ankabut: 65)
Shirk is to equate between other than God with God in the things that a specificity for God. Shirk is divided into two:
1. Shirk akbar, ie everything that is known as a maker kesyirikan by shari’ah and it contained the action out of religion
2. Shirk asghar; any act or utterance that is known as polytheism or unbelief but on the basis of other arguments is known that in fact it is not out of religion (see at-Tawheed al-Muyassar, p.. 20)
Danger shirk a lot, including:
1. Perpetrators will not be forgiven if the die in a state not repent from it (see an-Nisaa ‘: 48)
2. The perpetrator out of Islam, became kosher blood and treasure (see at-Tauba: 5)
3. Practice what is being done will not be accepted by God, he will just be wasted like scattered dust (see al-Furqan: 23)
4. Perpetrators forbidden to go to heaven (see al-Ma’idah: 72) (see at-Tawheed al-Muyassar, p.. 26)
