Inviting To Tawheed

Allah ta’ala says (which means), “Indeed We sent Noah to his people, he said: O my people, worship Allah for you there is no god besides Him.” (Surah al-A’raaf: 59). Allah ta’ala says (which means), “And to the people of ‘Aad, We sent their brother Hud ie. He said: O my people, worship Allah for you there is no god besides Him. “(Surah al-A’raaf: 65). Allah ta’ala says (which means), “And unto Thamud, We sent their brother Salih ie. He said: O my people, worship Allah for you there is no god besides Him. “(Surah al-A’raaf: 73). Allah ta’ala says (which means), “And to the Madyan, We sent their brother is Syu’aib. He said: O my people, worship Allah for you there is no god besides Him. “(Surah al-A’raaf: 85). Allah ta’ala says (which means), “Truly We sent to every nation a messenger who invited; Serve Allah and shun the Evil.” (Surat an-Nahl: 36). Noble verses show that all the apostles were preaching preach monotheism. Similarly, should that be done by the scholars and preachers who continue their struggle …

Therefore they always warn people of the dangers of shirk. Allah ta’ala says (which means), “It has been revealed to you and the prophets before you, if you do shirk all amalmu bound to disappear, and you really will include among those who perish.” (Surat az -Zumar: 65). Ibrahim, greeting alaihis also pray to God to be kept away from the worship of idols, as told in verse (which means), “Put away the child myself and my progeny from worshiping idols.” (Surah Ibrahim: 35).

Revealing Misconceptions about Tawheed

Many think that monotheism is simply the belief that God is one, not many. Tawhid is the meaning of God is the only creator, ruler and guardian of the universe. That is what is commonly known in the term of the scholars as rububiyah monotheism, which recognizes the oneness of God in created things, organize and such. In fact, monotheism is a core mission of the prophets and apostles is not it. Tawhid is the main objective is to preach monotheism uluhiyah; that is addressing all forms of worship only to God and leave all the god other than Him. It was as described by Allah in the verse (which means), “Worship Allah and do not associate him with anything.” (Surah an-Nisaa ‘: 36).

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah may Allaah have mercy saying, “It is not meant to monotheism was merely monotheism ie belief that God rububiyah alone who created nature as alleged by some people from among experts Kalam and Sufism. In fact, they thought if they had been able to establish the truth of this proposition with evidence they feel has confirmed the essence of monotheism. They think if they had witnessed and reach this level then it means they have managed to reach the top of the teachings of monotheism. And indeed if there is someone who recognizes the properties of the greatness of Allah Ta’ala and to cleanse him from all that pollutes his position and also believe that Allah is the sole creator of all things, is not he become a muwahid until he pronounce shahada la ilaha illa; no true god except Allah alone, so he acknowledges that God alone has the right to diibadahi and he runs the worship of Allah and not associate him. “(Quoted from Fath al-Majid, p.. 15-16)

This misconception arises from the Mutakallimin / philosophy, and Mu’tazilite Asya’irah who interpret the word god in the creed with the meaning of la ilaha illa al-Qadir; meaning of the ruling. So they interpret la ilaha illa with nothing except the power to create God. Therefore, in the book such as Umm Barahin their grip, explained that the meaning of god is the Essence which does not require other than himself, while all things other than his need of Him. This means they have to distort the meaning of Tawheed Tawheed uluhiyah rububiyah. This also raises the emergence of meaning la ilaha illa with ‘no god but Allah’, because the term god here dimaknakan by Rabb / creator, regulator and guardian of Alama universe. In fact, the true meaning is not the true god but God (see at-Tam-li Syarh hid the book at-Tawheed, p.. 75-76)
