Magical including major sin with the consensus’ (consensus) of scholars. Neither study, teach, perform, or ask disihirkan, all forbidden.
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال اجتنبوا السبع الموبقات قالوا يا رسول الله وما هن قال الشرك بالله والسحر وقتل النفس التي حرم الله إلا بالحق وأكل الربا وأكل مال اليتيم والتولي يوم الزحف وقذف المحصنات المؤمنات الغافلات
From Abu Hurairah, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, he said, “Stay away from seven (sins) of desolation!” They (the companions) asked, “O Messenger of Allah, is it?” He replied, “Shirk in Allah; magic; kill the soul which Allah forbade, except with haq; consuming riba; consuming the orphan’s property, away from the raging war, accused of adultery against independent women who guard of honor, who believe, and clean from fornication. “(Hadith Sahih Bukhari History, no. 3456; Muslim, no. 2669)
However, whether the nature of magic is it?
Meaning of Witchcraft
In Arabic, the magic does it mean something vague or hidden reason. While the term Personality ‘, then the scholars give different definitions, but essentially the same. The most comprehensive definition that we get the explanation of the commentators of Imam, Imam Al-Aluusi-may Allah bless him. He said, “What is meant by magic is a strange case that resembles a remarkable case, which was not unusual because the case can be studied, to get it closer to syaithon, case-by doing bad things, in the form of words: such incantations that contains the words of shirk, praise to syaithan, and power syaithan, and the form of deeds, such as: the worship of the stars, to his crime, and all ungodliness, and form beliefs, such as: the perception of both what is closer ourselves to syaithan, his love to syaithan.
Magic is not going well except with what suits the syaithan in the ugliness and cruelty of life, because compliance is a condition closer together and help. As the angels will not help except to people who either, which resemble the angels in worship and pursue closer to Allah Ta’ala with the words and deeds, so too syaithan will not help except to people who are evil, which resemble those in the atrocities and evils, in the form of words, deeds, and beliefs. With this wizard is different from the prophets and saints. ” (Ruhul Ma’ani, 1 / 338, quoted from ‘Alamus Sihri was Sya’wadzah, p.. 152-153)
Essentially There Is Magic?
The scholars agreed that the Sunnah of Experts there are essentially magic and reality. Although the group Mu’tazilite and people affected by them to deny the essence of magic, but their denial has no value. Among their arguments is:
1 – News of God about the existence of magic, while news of God is true. (Surat al-Baqarah (2): 102).
2 – The command of God to take refuge from the evil sorcerer. (Surat Al-Falaq: 4).
3 – Prohibition of the Prophet to learn magic and practice it.
4 – Ijma ‘friend. Al-Qarafi said, “Witchcraft and the news of the magic has been known by the friends-may Allah be pleased with them all, they agreed on the existence before the emergence of groups Qadariyah (Mu’tazilite).” (Al-Furuuq, the work of Al-Qarafi, juz 4, p.. 150; quoted from ‘Alamus Sihri was Sya’wadzah, p.. 92).
Imam Ibn al-Qayyim denied Mu’tazilite opinion that says, “Indeed the whole magic is just takh-yiil (a fantasy)”, he said, “This menyelisihi mutawatir narrations from the Companions and the Salaf (the ancient people of Salih) and has been agreed by a jurist, expert commentary, and hadith scholars. And are known by kebanyakn Jurist. ” (Tafseer al-Qayyim, p.. 571, quoted from ‘Alamus Sihri was Sya’wadzah, p.. 92).
5 – Genesis of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam never been bewitched. (Saheeh hadeeth narrated by Bukhari, no. 5766; Muslim, no. 2189).
6 – The reality of magic in the days of Moses, of witches who gathered by the Pharaoh (Surah Al-A’raf, verse: 116).
7 – The fact in every era and place. Mentioned in the Book of Magic, page 11, by Muhammad Muhammad Ja’far, that magic is the fact that there really existed, no doubt about it. Witchcraft has been mentioned throughout the book from the sky. Magic inherited by the people of Babylon, Egypt, India, China, and others in the writings, paintings, sculptures, and their relics. Witchcraft is also contained in the records and data courts in English, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian, and Portuguese, and others. And mentioned in the confessions sorcerers men and women at the time of their trial. Also there in the legacy of the magicians that, in the form of tools, materials, and agreements with syaithon. Kinds of Magic
To complete this magic issue, we also need to know all kinds of magic that exists:
1 – Magical essential: namely that there is magic in reality, like magic that affects the body, making the sick, or kill (this is called magick, witchcraft, teluh, and the like, pen.) Or to separate two people who loved each other (this is called shar-f), or collect two people who hate each other (this is called the ‘ath-f, aji favor, pellets, and the like).
Real magic, there are two kinds: the magic that happens with the intention of the magician, and magic happens with a tool (a kind of objects that have been given a mantra or a tattoo).
2 – Magic takh-Yili: the magician uses the power of imagination, and he described fantasies, or imitations, or other forms, and he senses show it to people who look, so people who look as if see if there is in fact, even though it does not exist. This is called hypnosis, or something. Like the magician who shows parks, rivers, palaces, and that’s all there, it’s just fantasy in the eye. Or like a magician who stabbed himself with a sword, or eat fire, or walk on fire, but it did not trace him. It’s all a mirage. Or someone comes with a plain paper, and then he conjured another person, so he saw it as paper money. Or he took an iron, but the bewitched people see it as gold. Or he brings the locust, but people who see it as a goat bewitched. And after the men went, things were back to normal. These are magic takh-Yili.
3 – Magic majazi, which is why events that vague because it is done with the speed of hand movement, or scientific deception, or lies, or inventions that are known by a witch that before anyone else. This is called the magic, or something. Namimah Likewise, bayan (explanation), and the like including magic majazi. That is called magic because the effect is like magic but not magic. And Allaah knows best.

Then you need to know, that magic word in the shari’ah is the magic that the culprit for help to syaithan.
Shaykh Umar Sulayman Al-Asyqar-hafizhahullah-said, “Indeed, the essential magic is magic that the culprit for help to syaithan. -That our Lord His knowledge encompasses all things-has been reported that syaithan-syaithan that teaches magic … (surah Al-Baqarah verse 102).
And has mutawatir stories from people who are investigating the circumstances of magic and witches who establish relationships with the sorcerers syaithan.
The witches draw closer to syaithan with what they like, in the form of beliefs that is broken, the misguided deeds, eat haram things and bad.
Then syaithan help them towards their goals. Hence the cunning of the scholars we define the magic with “works to get closer to syithan and (occurs) with the help syaithon. The case is all the essence of magic. “(The Book ‘was Alamus Sihri Sya’wadzah, p.. 152).
