Understanding the science of religion is an obligation upon every Muslim and Muslimah. Sholallohu Rasulullah ‘alaihi wassallam said:
طلب العلم فريضة على كل مسلم
Study is the duty of every Muslim. [HR. Ibn Majah no: 224, and others from Anas bin Malik. Dishahihkan by Sheikh Al-Albani]
And religion is what has been spoken by Allah in His book, Al-Qur’anul Karim, and spoke by RosulNya in the sunnah. Hence, including a very dangerous mistake is to talk about religion without science from Allah and RosulNya.
For advice on fellow Muslims, here we convey in danger to speak about religion without science:
1.Hal it is a matter that is forbidden by God’s highest.
Allah Ta’ala says:
قل إنما حرم ربي الفواحش ما ظهر منها وما بطن والإثم والبغى بغير الحق وأن تشركوا بالله ما لم ينزل به سلطانا وأن تقولوا على الله ما لا تعلمون
Say: “my Lord forbid only a heinous act, either visible or concealed, and sin, violate human rights without the right reasons, (forbid) ascribe God with something that God did not decrease hujjah for it and (forbid) invent against Allah what ye know not (talk about God without knowledge) “(Al-A’raf: 33)
Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdulloh rohimahulloh ibn Baaz said: “Speaking about Allah without knowledge, including the biggest things that is forbidden by God, it is mentioned even higher than the position of shirk. For in these verses Allah contemplates the sort that is forbidden from the lowest to the highest.
And speaking about Allah without knowledge include: talking (without knowledge) of His laws, syari’atNya, and religion. 2. Speaking about Allah without knowledge, including lie on (name of) Allah.
Allah Ta’ala says:
ولا تقولوا لما تصف ألسنتكم الكذب هذا حلال وهذا حرام لتفتروا على الله الكذب إن الذين يفترون على الله الكذب لا يفلحون
And do not say terhadapa what was mentioned by the tongue is a lie “This is lawful and unlawful”, to invent a lie against Allah. Verily those who invent a lie against Allah, there is no luck. (Surah An-Nahl (16): 116)
3.Berbicara about Allah without knowledge is misguidance and deceive others.
Sholallohu Rasulullah ‘alaihi wassallam said:
إن الله لا يقبض العلم انتزاعا ينتزعه من العباد ولكن يقبض العلم بقبض العلماء حتى إذا لم يبق عالما اتخذ الناس رءوسا جهالا فسئلوا فأفتوا بغير علم فضلوا وأضلوا
Surely God will not revoke the knowledge of His servants at once, but he will pull out of science by turning off the ‘ulama’. So when God does not leave a ‘goody-too, the people-even lift a stupid leaders. Then the leaders were asked, then they berfatwa without science, so that they become false and misleading others. (HSR. Bukhari, no: 100, Muslims, and others)
This hadeeth indicates that “Whoever does not knowledgeable and answered questions posed to him by without science, and mengqias (compare) with their minds, so that forbid what Allah halalkan with stupidity, and justifies what God forbade by without him to know, then this is the person who mengqias with their minds, so that he is misguided and misleading. (Saheeh Jami’il Ilmi Fadhlihi Wa, p.: 415, by Al-Hafiz Ibn Abdil Barr, abridged by Sheikh Abul Asybal Az-Zuhairi)
4.Berbicara about Allah without knowledge is an attitude follow lust.
Imam Ali ibn Abil ‘Izzi rohimahulloh al-Hanafi said: “He who speaks without knowledge, then surely he is just following the air-lust, and God has said:
ومن أضل ممن اتبع هواه بغير هدى من الله
And who is more astray than those who follow the desires to not have the slightest clue of Allah (Al-Qashshash: 50) “(Book of FII Tahdzib Minhah godlike Syarh Ath-Thahawiyah, p.: 393)
5.Berbicara about Allah without knowledge is an attitude ahead of Allah and His Messenger.
Allah says:
ياأيها الذين ءامنوا لا تقدموا بين يدي الله ورسوله واتقوا الله إن الله سميع عليم
O ye who believe, do not you go before Allah and His Messenger and bertaqwalah to God. Allah is Hearing, Knowing. (Surat al-Hujuraat: 1)
Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Nasir As-Sa’di rohimahulloh said: “This verse contains the adab to Allah and RosulNya, as well as exaltation, reverence, and breeding to him. Allah has commanded His servants who believe, with the consequence of faith towards Allah and RosulNya, namely: to run the commands of Allah and stay away from a ban-ban. And so they always run following the orders of Allah and the Sunnah RosulNya in all their cases. And so they did not go before Allah and RosulNya, so let them not say, until Allah said, and they do not govern, until Allah’s rule “. (Taisir Karimir Rahman, Al-Hujurat letter: 1)
6.Orang who speak about Allah without knowledge to bear the sins of the people he led astray.
People who speak about Allah without knowledge is false, and invites people to heresy, therefore he bore the sins of the people he had led astray. Sholallohu Rasulullah ‘alaihi wassallam:
من دعا إلى هدى كان له من الأجر مثل أجور من تبعه لا ينقص ذلك من أجورهم شيئا ومن دعا إلى ضلالة كان عليه من الإثم مثل آثام من تبعه لا ينقص ذلك من آثامهم شيئا
Whoever calls on the instructions, then he got a reward as it rewards those who follow it, it did not reduce their reward at all. And whoever calls on the error, then he got a sin as the sins of those who follow it, it did not reduce their sin at all. (HSR. Muslim no: 2674, from Abu Hurairah)
7.Berbicara about Allah without knowledge will be asked for the responsibility.
Allah Ta’ala says:
ولا تقف ما ليس لك به علم إن السمع والبصر والفؤاد كل أولائك كان عنه مسئولا
And do not follow what you do not have knowledge about it. Indeed hearing, sight and hearts, all that will be asked pertanggunganjawabnya. (Surat al-Isra ‘: 36)
After mentioning the opinion of the Salaf of this verse, Imam Ibn Kathir rohimahulloh said: “The conclusion that they cite is the explanation: that Allah Ta’ala prohibits speaking without knowledge, that is (to speak) only with the presupposition that is an estimate and delusion.” (Tafseer Al -Qur ‘anul Azhim, surat Al-Isra’: 36)
8.Orang who speak about Allah without knowledge, including not arbitrate with what Allah sent down.
Sheikh Hafiz Bin Ahmad Al-Hakami t states: “Fashal: about the prohibition to speak about Allah without knowledge, and illicit berfatwa about the religion of Allah in what texts menyelisihi.” Then he brought a number of Qur’anic verses, among which is the verse below:
ومن لم يحكم بمآ أنزل الله فأولائك هم الكافرون
He who does not judge by what Allah revealed, they are the people who disbelieve. (Surah 5:44)

Imam Abu Ja’far Ath-Thahawi rohimahulloh stated in his aqidah Thahawiyahnya the famous: “And we said:” Allaah knows best (Knowing God) “, against which contemplates the vague knowledge for us.” [Minhah godlike FII Tahdzib Syarh Ath-Thahawiyah, p.: 393]
10.Berbicara religion without science is syaithan command.
Allah says:
إنما يأمركم بالسوء والفحشآء وأن تقولوا على الله ما لا تعلمون
Indeed syaithan just told you to do evil and cruel, and said to Allah what ye know not. (Qur’an 2:169)
Description We conclude with advice: anyone who wants spoke about religion, let him learn more first. Then he should only speak based on science. Wallohu a’lam showwab bish. Sharee’ah Rabbil ‘alamin.
