The Prophet Yunus (Jonah)

Posted: Januari 5, 2011 in Uncategorized

The prophet Jonah was sent by God to a big city where people had forgotten God’s orders and did many things that God had forbidden. Jonah told them: You must believe only in God and obey only Him You must worship only Him and do good, if not do so, will fall upon you a severe punishment.

But Jonas soon realized that people would not listen. Then, he lost patience and angrily left the city. Later, Jonah decided to cross the sea and went on a boat for the trip. But when the ship was in the middle of the ocean, Jonah did a disgrace. Was thrown overboard and was swallowed by a giant whale. However, fortunately, the whale swallowed Jonah had a great shot, so that the stomach was unharmed.

Inside the whale’s stomach was no light, and Jonah felt very scared. In solitude, he began to remember what had happened in the city and concluded that it should not have acted so hastily and would have been angry like that. Should have been insisting, talking to people and asking them to turn to God.

In desperation, Jonah began to pray to God with all your heart. He said: “Oh God, no god but You. You alone I praise and honor. I was wrong, if you do not help me, I’ll be lost forever. “

God hears the prayers of those who pray to Him and those who believe in Him God heard Jonah’s prayer and made him leave the belly of the whale to be thrown by the waves of the sea to the shore. The poor Jonah was in a sorry state and was lying on the sand, weak, sick and helpless. She felt terribly sad, but God made it grow a tree and the tree gave Jonah shade and fruit to feed. Shortly after Jonah had recovered his health and strength.

As I was better, God again sent Jonah to the city. But this time, people listened to Jonah when he told them: You must believe in God and worship Him alone You must do good.
